The highest quality organic media products and raw materials are produced abroad, and must be shipped in containers. To enable transport of higher product volume per container, special compacting methods were developed. The advantage of organic materials lies in their ability to reopen, and return to their pre-compacted state. Peat products and growing media are supplied when compacted to 1:2.5, whereas coconut products are compacted to 1:5. This enables using a container 40 feet in length, 70 m3 volume, to transport over 300 m3 of high-quality coco peat.
